To Take It To The Next Level

How It Began & How It Continues In Jesus Name
Amen.

My name is Treva Diane McCullough, the youngest child of Pastor Arthur E. & Treva C. McCullough. I am the Founder/President of Take It To The Next Level Scholarship Foundation. This biography is being written in memory of my parents, Pastor Arthur & Treva C. McCullough who were founding members of the New Birth Church of Christ in Detroit, MI.  My father later become Pastor where he and my mother, Treva Cornelia McCullough, labored “in love” for 27 years. The church is currently under the leadership of Pastors Keith & Wanda D. Cooper.

Pastor Arthur E. McCullough and Mrs. Treva C. McCullough moved from Winston Salem, North Carolina to Detroit, MI in 1946 with their 3 children and the expected arrival of another soon.  However, they learned that 2 children, twins would join the family.  But wait, it didn’t stop there, three more children were born, we are now have a family of 10!

On  June 4, 1966, my father, Pastor Arthur McCullough received his Bachelor of Theology degree from the Community School of the Bible (later renamed the Detroit Bible College).

As a child, I watched as my father’s thirst for knowledge grow, he spent hours studying the Word of God! I remember one of his favorite scriptures 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.  My parents lived that scripture daily, they sowed into the lives of many people and even today, they are remembered for the love, wisdom, and knowledge that they shared with so many.

It wasn’t until years later that I discovered my thirst for knowledge as well.  I moved forward to successfully complete my Bachelors in Business Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. It was during that time, that I received the vision to establish “Take It To The Next Level Scholarship Foundation,” to honor the most high, God and my parents.

“Take It To The Next Level Scholarship Foundation,” will join other philanthropic organizations in changing the trajectory of our communities by providing financial scholarships to individuals pursuing a 4 year degree.  Students must have a 2.5 - 3.0 or higher GPA and a concentration in Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Ministry, Religion, and/or Theology.
